The Hand Luggage you are able take on a KLM flight depends on the type of ticket that you have purchased. Please refer to the table below:

Checked Luggage

Similar to hand luggage allowances, the checked luggage allowance depends on your the type of ticket you purchased. Please refer to the table below:

  Economy Class on European and intercontinental flights Business Class on European and intercontinental flights
Number of Bags: - 1 item of check-in baggage - 2 items of check-in baggage
Size dimensions: - max. 158 cm (L+ H+W) - max. 158 cm (L+ H+W)
Max Weight: - 23 kg (Combined) - 32 kg (Each)

Please note: If you’re travelling as a Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum member or a SkyTeam Elite/ Elite Plus member, you are allowed 1 extra item of check-in baggage of the dimensions stated above.

Children’s Baggage

If the child is travelling in their own seat, hand baggage and checked in baggage are the same as adult allowances (This is shown in the tables above).

However, if you are travelling with a child under two years of age you are able to bring on the following items:

Number of Bags: - 1 item of hand baggage with baby care items
- 1 item of check-in baggage
Size Dimensions: Hand Luggage : max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm.
Max Weight: Hand Luggage : 12 kg
Checked Luggage: 10 kg

Excess Fees

When travelling with KLM Airlines, if your baggage is over the stated weight or dimensions, you will have to pay excess baggage fees. Special Baggage (Such as Sporting or Musical Equipment)

Because of limited space on KLM aircraft’s, you need to reserve for the transportation of some types of special baggage as early as possible – no later than 48 hours before departure.
