Jet2 Airways Baggage Allowances & Fees 2020

Jet2 passengers are permitted to carry one piece of hand luggage on board their flight. A maximum weight of 10kg applies and it must have dimensions no larger than 56 x 45 x 25 cm.

Cabin Bags

If your cabin baggage exceeds these dimensions or weighs in excess of 10kg, it will be checked in as hold baggage for which there will be an additional charge.

Where possible, passengers will be able to bring a small additional item of cabin baggage on board, such as a handbag or laptop bag, provided that such items can be stowed either in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you.

Checked Baggage

Passengers can check-in up to three 22kg pieces of baggage per person. Oversized and overweight luggage will face extra charges, however, no single item of baggage is allowed to weigh more than 32kg.

Fees

The price of baggage is variable depending on your destination and whether you make a booking via the Jet2 website, over the phone or at the airport.

Prices start at around £10 depending on your route, but on average are £21 per bag, per flight. Passengers are advised to book online in advance, as it’s up to 50% cheaper to buy online than the airport on the day.

If you have not pre-booked all of your hold baggage prior to the arrival at the airport, a fee of £45 per item will be charged, plus any additional excess baggage charges if & when applicable.

If your hold bag exceeds the weight allowance of 22kg, excess baggage charges will be applied at a rate of £12 per kilo. No single piece of baggage is allowed to exceed 32kg.

Free of Charge Allowances

When travelling with Jet2, there are certain items which may be carried free of charge. As long as there is an infant or child on the booking, items such as collapsible pushchairs, buggies or children’s car seats can be carried free of charge as long as the combined weight does not exceed more than 10kg. If the combined weight is more than this, excess baggage charges will apply.

If you are getting married abroad and need to take your wedding dress with you, you can check your wedding outfit into the hold as part of your standard baggage allowance, taking care to ensure that it is properly protected from any damage. If it is within hand baggage restrictions, it can be carried onto the aircraft with you as your hand luggage allowance but will need to be stowed away in the overhead locker.

Exceptional Items

There are also certain exceptional items which can be carried for an additional fee.

Items such as golf bags, ski equipment, bicycles and musical instruments will be charged from £30 per flight for each item up to 20kg.

Any weight over this limit will be charged at standard excess baggage rates. No item can exceed 6ft in length. Passengers are always advised to book these exceptional items in advance online or via telephone.

Prices will vary depending on the item in question.
