Cabin Baggage
Your cabin baggage allowance is determined by your travel cabin. Passengers are permitted to carry onboard one or two cabin baggage items, depending on the travel cabin, as well as one accessory, such as a handbag, a briefcase, or a small bag for a notebook computer. Your travel cabin is shown on your booking and on your ticket.
Your cabin baggage must not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm. Your accessory item must not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 15cm. If you are travelling economy, the total combined weight of your cabin baggage and accessory must not exceed 12kg or 18kg if you are travelling business class.
Additional items you may take on board the cabin:
- Umbrella
- Jacket, coat or other clothes you are wearing
- Duty-free items purchased on your flight or at the airport
- Children's accessories such as a collapsible stroller*, car seat or diaper bags (see the Family and children section of the website)
- Medical equipment (collapsible wheelchair*, crutches, etc).
Please note:
- Garment bags and “Yoyo” strollers are considered a standard hand baggage item and not as an accessory.
- For safety reasons, any equipment designed for children to sleep horizontally (convertible bag that serves as a bed, inflatable mattress placed in front of the seat, etc.) are not permitted onboard Air France aircraft.

Items must not exceed 158cm in total dimensions.
Light and Basic fares do not include checked bag options. These must be paid for separately, Prices start at €25 online and €40 if purchasing on the day at the airport. Prices are generally higher on long-haul routes.
Air France Excess Baggage
If any piece of checked baggage exceeds the size or weight restrictions, an additional fee will be charged at the airport. The exact fee varies depending on the route travelled.
No piece of checked baggage is allowed to exceed the maximum weight allowance of 32kg.

Air France Sports Equipment and Special Baggage
Air France permits a wide range of sporting equipment, musical instruments and other exceptional items on flights. Special baggage under the standard checked baggage allowance can be considered as such and can be transported in the hold. However, items that exceed these restrictions may require permission from Air France customer service.
Some musical instruments can even be transported as cabin baggage if an additional seat is purchased on the flight. Prior approval from Air France customer service is required, and the weight per seat must not exceed 46kg. Or, instruments can be checked for a fee.
